Lake Wateree is a 13,250-acre man-made lake with 242+ miles of shoreline. It offers a large population of crappie, bass, catfish and bream. The 238-acre Lake Wateree State Park is on the lake's Desportes Island and features a lakeside 72-site campground, tackle and park stores, playground and mile-long nature trail. There are also the 763-acre N.R. Goodale State Park, Green Hill Golf Club, White Pines Golf Course, numerous county parks, tennis courts, pools and more.
